Tea Tickets

We are days away from our Spring is Sprung Tea!  If you still want to order tickets they are $5 for adults and $1 for children.  Older students may come to the tea without a parent but they must have a ticket.  Tomato plants are also available for order at $2 for a plant.

8B SS - Corrected Roman Society and Entertainment.  NO HOMEWORK.

8M SS - HOMEWORK:  ROMAN SOCIETY AND ENTERTAINMENT.

8B ELA - HOMEWORK:  THE HIGHWAYMAN POEM BY ALFRED NOYES (INCLUDES A PINK QUESTION).

8M ELA - Started correcting The Highwayman poem.  Pink questions were collected.  NO HOMEWORK.

7SS - Collected Children's Rights posters.

Happy Easter To All!

7SS - Students were working on their Children's Rights posters.  We have another class period to work on them then they are due on Thursday.
8SS - Work time for Roman Law and Military.  Handed back several pieces of work.  Check the scores.  HOMEWORK:  ROMAN LAW AND MILITARY.
8ELA - Learned about ballads and read "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes.  Handed back the spelling test from Thursday.  NO HOMEWORK.

**We wore our Take Pride! t-shirts today and cleaned up our school yard and neighbourhood.

Greece Tests Home Today for Signing

8SS - We reviewed our Greece tests and they were sent home for parent signatures.  Corrected our work on Roman Governance and Julius Caesar.  NO HOMEWORK.

**Tomorrow is Litterless Lunch; please bring a lunch tomorrow that doesn't make any garbage.  Reuseable containers are best!

8SS - Learned about Julius Caesar and the significance of 44 BCE.  HOMEWORK:  CAESAR Q. 1-5.

8ELA - Reviewed work on I am David - Memorable Quotes.  HOMEWORK:  MEMORABLE QUPTE ROUGH DRAFT POEM.

7G SS - Corrected the Doing My Part chart.  Reviewed guidelines for Children's Rights Poster.

Tea Tickets Now on Sale

8SS - Corrected Roman geography and collected Rome Maps.  Learned about Roman Government.  HOMEWORK:  ROMAN GOVERNMENT Q, 1-4.

7G SS - Discussed the video from last class:  Jane's Practical Guide to Human Rights.  HOMEWORK:  DOING MY PART CHART.
7C SS - Finished watching a video:  Jane's Practical Guide to Human Rights.  HOMEWORK:  VIDEO VIEWING SHEET.

**An Assembly was held on Tuesday to kick-off our Spring Tea.  All students, K to 8, will be involved; they will be performing, serving, decorating, and entertaining you for the afternoon.  Tomato plants are available for pre-order and pick-up at the tea.  We'll be looking for dainties from all families.  Come and see what we've planned for you.  More information is available on the school website and on the yellow sheet sent home on Tuesday.  See you at the tea on May 5th.

New Unit in SS

8SS - Students wrote the Ancient Greece Test today.  8M - Also began the new unit on Ancient Rome. HOMEWORK:  PERMISSION FORM FOR THE MOVIE GLADIATOR WITH RUSSELL CROWE.
8M - ELA - Discussed how dialogue can create mood.  HOMEWORK:  MEMORABLE QUOTATIONS ASSIGNMENT.

**Permission forms still need to be returned for the field trip on Monday.  Grade 8 grammar tests went home for signing yesterday and need to be returned.  Please bring in Canadian Tire money or other donations of pet supplies for the St. Francis Challenge.
