Vow of Silence Today

What a great day!  Everyone worked so hard at being silent and representing those children who do not have a voice.  Thanks to everyone for participating!  I even heard that the grade 2 and 3 classes were silent like the grade 7 and 8 students...good work!

8ELA-Library.  Read the short story "The Sniper".  HOMEWORK:  THE SNIPER Q 1-5
8M SS - Began an internet activity via www.pbs.org/empires/egypt in which we learned about daily life in several Egyptian job categories.
7REL - HOMEWORK:  JOURNAL REFLECTION ON TRUST WORDS.

**Tomorrow the Me to We Team will announce the events taking place during December. 
Assembly at 9 AM in the MPR.

Vow of Silence Tomorrow!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Holy Cross will be participating in the global event Vow of Silence sponsored by Free the Children.  Our whole school will be silent (some younger grades less than the older ones) to stand in solidarity with children who do not have their basic rights.  Think of us tomorrow!

Long Time, No Talk

8ELA - Reading class today.  Spelling test for unit 11.  Peer conferencing for our Narrative Paragraphs based on photos.  HOMEWORK:  FINAL COPY NARRATIVE PARAGRAPH.
7HEALTH - Started our unit on Human Sexuality.  Discussed adolescence with its good and bad parts.  Learned about the male and female reproductive systems.  Reflected on related scripture (Gen. 1:27-31 and 2:21-24, Cor. 12:26, Ps. 139:13-15, Jer. 1:5).  Completed a worksheet on the wonder of the human reproductive process.

7SS - Corrected yesterday's homework about basic geography vocabulary.  NO HOMEWORK.  MAPPING TEST ON MONDAY

Grade 7 was Busy Today!

7Health - From yesterday's double, students worked on a story and applied their knowledge of conflict and conflict resolution to real-life scenarios of cliques.  HOMEWORK:  BELONGING Q 1-5 DUE TOMORROW.
7SS - Learning about basic geography vocabulary and applied their knowledge to the homework questions.  HOMEWORK:  GEOGRAPHY TERMS Q 1-13 DUE TOMORROW.  MAPPING QUIZ TOMORROW.
7 REL - Students continued working on their timeline posters of the Christian story.  HOMEWORK:  TIMELINE POSTERS DUE TOMORROW.
8B SS - Work time for the topic of Egyptian Religion and summed up our learning of Egyptian geography with a map assignment.  HOMEWORK:  EGYPT MAP AND EGYPTIAN
RELIGION Q 1-8.
8M SS - Corrected our internet activity homework on Egyptian Resources.
8 ELA - Skills Tests were returned, reviewed and need to be signed.  Spelling Unit 9 work was corrected.  Spelling Test tomorrow.
